Our Vision, Values and Aims

Our Vision

 

We want St. Fillan’s Primary and Nursery Class to be a community:

  • where everyone is treated with respect and fairness.
  • where everyone continually strives to reach his/her spiritual, moral, physical, mental and educational potential.
  • where everyone works in partnership to improve and to meet the needs of all learners.
  • where everyone is prepared to think creatively, try things differently, make mistakes and learn from those mistakes.

 

 Our Values

Last year our Pupil Council worked together to redrafted our Values.

They aspire that St. Fillan's Primary School and Nursery Class is a place where everyone shows LOVE for LIFE and LOVE for learning

Our Aims

We aim to:

  • foster a love of God and neighbour.
  • meet the needs of all children through reflectively adapting learning and teaching approaches.
  • work cooperatively with all partners in our children’s education to create healthy, happy, confident, responsible citizens with a desire to keep learning.

 

In line with the Scottish Government's National Priorities these are our aims:

  • Achievement and Attainment - To continue to develop effective teaching and learning strategies and raise levels of attainment and achievement
  • Framework for Learning - To provide a motivating learning environment matched to the individual needs of our children
  • Inclusion and Equality - To reduce inequality, celebrate  social and cultural diversity and promote social justice and inclusion
  • Values and Citizenship - To work in partnership with parents and others in the community encouraging children to become responsible citizens
  • Learning for Life - To encourage the personal growth of children and staff as effective contributors in a multi-cultural society
